Melodic Heavy Gothic Worship Metal

Comunidad Del Metal is a Christian worship project under the lead singer Abel Gomez, the leading vocalist and drummer of Mexican thrash metal band Lament. Abel Gomez previously released his first album as a solo musician project but has found accompanying musicians such as Abel Gomez, Dalia Rodriguez, Gilberto Rosario and Antonio Juàrez to help out on this project. Comunidad Del Metal is a worship metal music orientation, what you could call Jubilant Spanish Worship Metal. This second album from Comunidad Del Metal is called Alabarte Bello Es.

The very first track is called 'Vengo en las Noches' which is one of those songs that wishes to bring you into the presence of the Lord and worship Him in the honour that He deserves. Track two is called 'A Tu lado' is one of those tracks that I really love, with its great bass tempo, supporting keyboardist but it is the chorus of this song that makes me desire more songs in this style, the ending of the song with the accompanying children vocals is a nice touch. 'Porca es la Soledad' offers some keyboarding by keyboardist Dalia. 'Herido Venia' is a nice quiet ballad, The track 'Dios Esta' makes a nice worshipful track along side Herido Venia.

'Mil Atardeceres' has some nice guitar work, with some great keyboards and is a nice melodic metal song. Track 7 on the album is called Aqui Estoy and is a nice tranquil worship song that many a Spanish singer will appreciate. It has some nice guitar backing behind the song with some nice light drumming as well as it doesn’t overpower the worship feel of the song.

'Nacion Bajo el Sello del' I feel is the hit single on the album with the great guitar rifting and Abel’s operatic vocals. 'Te Necesitan MMVII' is I think another number hit single on this album with the great musicianship of the Comunidad band, that uses great use of all members musician talents. For me, this song is a cry song for the city of Mexico to come to enjoy a closer experience with their God and a cry of revival within the Mexican people. This song is one that is one that sticks on the brain long after the album has finished. Track 10 is called Vence al Gigante, with the nice tranquil introduction with its rainfall and conversation, but it is starting to feel that Communidicado is relying a lot on reverb software to alter its effect on the guitaring on each song and whether the listener appreciates this or finds it tiring, it will depend on their own preferences.

‘En Tus Atrios' is a slower ballad song but has a lovely introduction by a child and a recorder intro. The vocals are worshipful and lead you to experience a wholeness of the Holy Spirit, as you close your eyes when listening to Abel sing, in some respects some of the vocals that Abel uses are similar to the operatic style found in System of a Down. The musicianship in this band is fluid and melodic metal. I really liked the song A Tu Lado, especially the chorus section with the accompanying vocals and keyboards. When getting to Track 12, you can enjoy the instrumental section of the album. The instrumental song is called Murallas. Once Murallas has finished, the album kick-starts again into the song Majgehc. I guess this song is about worshiping God and all of his Majesty. Sorry my Spanish is not very good but I hope I am right. Then the album finishes with the song focusing on the torment of hell called Tormenta. Not many preachers today mention or speak over the pulpit about the dangers of hell but it is necessary to captive our attention. Tormenta has a great rift but I don’t know if the keyboard behind it enhances the song or not. Depends on the listener but Abel has mixed this song very well with the accompanying effects with the heart beat and the evil voice of Satan. Strangely though the song musically changes mid way through becoming more melodic but picks back up into the rifts. This album really reflects the progress and development of this project band from being a solo artist project. The music is heart touching, moving and captivating. I would hope that this album would make headways into the Hispanic community in the USA, as such an album would really make inroads in such a harvest field of souls. The USA is blessed with the Hispanic Christian TV Channel Almavison, lets home this album makes the airways there. To find out more about this album contact Abel Gomez in how to get it.
